Aveda Earth Month

Aveda Earth MonthAveda raise funds for Earth Month 2013 with a Worldwide Cut-A-Thon.

On 22 April, Aveda are hosting a Worldwide Cut-A-Thon with a 24hour charity haircut to help raise money for environmental causes.

All UK funds will be donated to WaterAid who provide clean and sanitary water to deprived communities all over the world.  With an international aim of winning $5 million and a goal of setting the Guinness World Record’s for the ‘most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period’.

Hosted at the Aveda Institute in Covent Garden as well as over 75 Aveda lifestyle salons across the UK, the Cut-A-Thon will take place between 11am until 7pm, whilst continuing across the globe in Tokyo, Sydney, Moscow and New York. Aveda stylists will volunteer for Appointments for the Earth in exchange for donations to the charitable causes.

For those who can’t spare an hour on the 22nd but still want to make a difference, the Aveda Light the Way Candle (£13.33) is the way to help. With 100% donations of the retail price going to Global Greengrants Fund, a non-profit organisation which supports clean-water projects. The limited edition candle features a Madagascan inspired scent blended with 100% certified organic essential oils with vanilla, cinnamon and ylang-ylang. For once candle purchased, a life in China, Madagascar or India can be changed.
