Seen at the shows Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein this season the girlish high ponytail is back. Slick back your tresses for a modern take on a glamorous party look.
It’s worth bearing in mind that ponytails work particularly well with one-shoulder dresses, fussy necklines or if you’re wearing an eye-catching statement necklace and luckily it works on every hair type.
Follow our simple steps from the experts at Hari’s on how to achieve this fuss-free look.
- A slick ponytail works best on pre-washed hair so it might be worth washing it the night before your party.
- Take a square section of dry hair from the top front of head in line with outer eyebrows and clip up out of the way.
- Brush the rest of the hair back in to a high pony and fasten in a hairband which matches the colour of your hair.
- Take the front section and slightly back comb and twist into a quiff, wrapping the excess hair around the base of the ponytail and fasten underneath with kirby grips.
5. Spray a generous amount of a flexible hold hairspray on to hair to ensure it stays in place no matter how much dancing you do.
