Hair Tip: Valentino Roll-Up

StyleNest team up with stylist to the royals, Richard Ward to bring you the latest Christmas look with the Valentino Roll-up.

Sophisticated and chic, the Valentino roll-up graced the catwalks for the AW12 collections making it the updo of the moment. Victorianesque and romantic, the Valentino Roll-up is effortlessly elegant and is the perfect party hair solution for those with mod to long hair lengths.

Ideal for highlighting cheekbones and enhancing your jawline, this twizzled look will frame your face and show-off your party dress without spoiling your jewellery – perfect.

Step 1.

Apply Richard Ward Couture Hair Tri-Active Serum with Argan Oil (£27) to the mid-lengths and ends of clean, towel-dried hair. The product gives your hair a shine and smooth finish whilst also shielding it from environmental factors. Blow-dry hair using a radial bristle brush and once finished apply a small amount dry shampoo to the ends of the hair to give your hair grip.

Step 2.

Create a centre parting and brush your hair away from your face and then divide into rough sections. Take the left section, starting above the ear and twist the hair towards your head. Lightly spray your hair with Couture Hair Stabiliser Hairspray (£18) and then grip with pins. As you coil the hair, add more sections of the hair until you reach the nape of your neck and continue until your hair is forced back over itself. Tuck under the main coil and secure the roll in place with pins.

Step 3.

Repeat the process on the right side but be careful to disguise the middle parting as you want a polished and smooth finish.
