Backyard Cinema Film Festival

Backyard CinemaGiant bean bags, Honest Burgers, Craft Beers and an array of top movies – Camden Market’s Backyard Cinema is back for its second year this summer offering the ultimate outdoor cinema experience but with a secret twist!

This year is the launch of their new Cuban Screen which will appeal to those wanting to discover independent cinema in a more intimate and immersive setting.

Set deeper into a secret part of the market, amongst the cobblestones and festoon lighting, The Cuban Screen will showcase handpicked independent movies, documentaries and cults. Screenings will include unknown favourites such as the mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows and the Reese Witherspoon 2015 favourite Wild.

Dominic Davies, Founder and Creator sums up the experience: “We love doing the big shows and the Main Stage in Camden is a real party, but we are equally as excited about this smaller more intimate setting. It’s a really cute secret location and it is great to be able to choose a more unusual selection of films that I know will attract real ‘movie buffs’ and even convert some undiscovered ones out there. We want customers to trust our film choice and use outdoor cinema to see something new, not just watch a classic you know and love. In fact, they can do both this year!”

A Cuban bar is at hand to match the summer vibe of this unique setting, serving summer cocktails, beers, wine and tasty Cuban snacks specially created for the Cuban cinema. As if that wasn’t enough there will also be surprise guest appearances, Q&A’s and a few other special touches that we won’t reveal!

Not to fret if you are looking for some more cheesy classic sing-alongs or want to catch up on one of the blockbusters of this year, the main screen will be showcasing a great list of movies including Whiplash, Clueless, Grease, Paddington, Thee Rocky Horror Picture Show, Nightcrawler and many more.

The famous giant bean bags will be available along with comfy deck chairs and for to satisfy the taste buds Craft Beers and juicy Honest Burgers will be available throughout the film. For those with a sweet tooth, Chin Chin Labs nitro ice-cream will be available with distinctive and delicious flavours including burnt butter caramel and vegan options such as pineapple rum cake.

Cuban Screen tickets are £14 and the main screen tickets range from £14 – £29. Doors open at 7Pm for food and drink. For tickets and more information check out www.backyardcinema.co.uk.
