Miu Miu have announced that they are releasing their first fragrance this September, and whilst details of the scent itself are yet to be revealed, it has been announced that French-English actress Stacey Martin will be the face of the perfume.
She may be the younger sister of Prada, known for its innovative designs and already extensive collection of fragrances and colognes, but the Miu Miu woman has always had her own strong identity; independent, creative, and with a daring, off-beat elegance. And so Martin, who is garnering attention for her daring film roles as well as her own personal style and strong, pretty features, seems to be the embodiment of the Miu Miu girl. Her impressive acting performances to date and her brave if not sometimes controversial choice of role, show both the strength of character and talent that the Miu Miu girl identifies with and that Miu Miu themselves refer to as a “defiant intelligence”. It is this intelligence, sense of fearlessness and overall personality of the Miu Miu woman that the design house wanted to capture in the campaign, and the final images show just how successful they have been. Shot by legendary photographer Stephen Meisel, the simple but striking collection of portraits capture both Martin´s and Miu Miu´s youthful, sophisticated style and personality perfectly. September still seems a long way away, but before the scent even launches Martin is already making us all want to be a Miu Miu girl.
