This time of year wouldn’t be complete without me tub-thumping on the mighty ‘nest about the unbridled joy looming on the horizon which is Camp Bestival.
Sister festival to the Isle of Wight’s behemoth of awesome Bestival, Camp Besti is lovingly curated by Josie and Rob da Bank and a team of wonders in the stunning grounds of Lulworth Castle, in Dorset.
Every year they manage to create an unforgettable weekend which will entertain the entire family. With the likes of Horrible Histories and Mr Tumble, as well as myriad activities and ways to play for the kids, and bands such as Basement Jaxx, De la Soul and perennial favourites The Cuban Brothers, there is fun and adventure to be head from dawn till dusk.
Add all manner of delicious food, soft play, spa, Freesports Park, kids dance classes and the Soul Park and you’ve scarcely scratched the surface of a weekend of such a scope and variation, all painstakingly created with love. To top all that off the pervasive atmosphere of happiness and engagement would melt the hardest heart.
If you’re already going (particularly if you haven’t before), be delighted and a tiny but awestruck. If you can make it, there are still some limited tickets left for what, cliches aside, is a genuinely magical and unforgettable weekend.
