Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe

Crab Bonnie GullWe do like to be beside the seaside, however, unfortunately living in London we tend to see very little sea and sand, but with the latest launch of Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe, city-goers can experience a taste any day of the week.

The sister restaurant to Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack in London’s West End, Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe is located in Exmouth Market and is due to launch on 22 April.

With a daily changing menu offering seasonal catches of the day, Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe will offer options for both eat-in and takeaway.

After starting life as a pop-up in Hackney in 2012, executive chef and owner Alex Hunter and Danny Clancy went on to open their first permanent location with Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack. After a much success from their central London location, the pair have decided to venture to Clerkenwell and set up shop in the food famous Exmouth Market.

“This is going to be something slightly different for us – a bigger site with a more informal 1960s British seaside café feel,” Alex Hunter, MD and Co-Founder, Bonnie Gull.

With a takeaway menu including dishes such as shells featuring oysters, cockles, smoked mussels, langoustines all served up on traditional newspaper as well as rolls featuring lobster rolls, fresh picked crab milk-rolls and fish finger sandwiches. And a dine-in menu including Grilled Dorset crab with avocado on beef dripping sourdough toast as well as smash your own 1Kg Cock Crab with flame grilled brown meat.

And what’s more, the seafood café will even be serving weekend brunch including Omlette Arnold Bennet with Arbroath smokie as well as the full Bonnie Breakfast.

And it doesn’t stop there, the seaside wouldn’t be complete without an ice cream so dessert includes homemade whippy ice cream in a cone as well as Blackpool rock and bags of Cornish fudge and Best of British puds such as Millionaire shortbread topped with candied hazelnuts and ice cream of course.

Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe opens April 22.
