Chia Seed Recipes – Bellisimo Balls

Bellissimo BallsWhilst culinary indulgence is accepted, in fact encouraged around the Christmas period, for those who are looking to eat a little healthier this year the chia seed recipes, particularly the recipe for Bellisimo Balls, may do the trick. 

Makes 15 – 20 balls 

Preparation time: 15 mins

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 tablespoon Chia seeds
  • 250g almonds
  • 125g oat flour
  • 125g quinoa flakes
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 fresh date
  • 185gm maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 250g desiccated coconut
  • 60g Chia seed (black and white) for garnish

What To Do:

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a food processor until they are chunky, being careful not to over blend; the mixture should come together without being too smooth.
  • Roll the mixture into medium sized balls and coat them with the desiccated coconut, and chia seeds
  • put the balls in the fridge until they set
