What does a typical day in the life of Lisa look like?

I would go to the office, which is based in Marseille, not too far from the sea. I work with my team on whatever exciting challenges the day throws at us.  Then, after work, I usually go to Pilates. Once I get home, the focus is on dinner. I love cooking and trying new recipes, so for me, cooking is a creative outlet, rather than just about putting food on the table.

Who or what inspires you?

My mother. She used to have a multibrand store in the 80s in Emirates Abu Dhabi. The name of the store was French Boutique, and it was filled with beautiful pieces from high-end brands such as St Laurent and more.  This inspired me, and from an early age, I was fascinated by beautiful clothes, beautiful fabrics, the gorgeous finishing and overall creativity of beautiful fashion.

What advice would you give to other female entrepreneurs?

Find your balance and enjoy the journey. Entrepreneurs are dreamers by nature. We all start with a vision of what we want to achieve, but sometimes, the journey to achieving the dream can be quite difficult. To me, the biggest challenge is to find the right balance between being creative and running the business, but it’s all part of that journey, and once I discovered that running my business can be as much fun as the design side – in its own way of course – I really started to enjoy every step of the way.

What is the key to your success in 3 words?

Discover. Learn. Innovate. 

I’m a huge fan of your pieces & am never not amazed at the quality of your products. It’s clear that quality is important to your brand, was this a conscious decision?

Very much so. I set out from the very start to make swimwear that not only looks great but is comfortable, functional and made to last.

When we choose fabrics for Beliza, we look for materials that can withstand the elements and our pieces are also crafted with care and precision, not mass-produced—quality over quantity.

Durability is also central to sustainability. A swimsuit that lasts doesn’t need to be replaced each year. As a diver, I see beautiful things in the sea, but sadly, I also see the damage we are doing to the planet, so sustainability is incredibly important to us.

As a Stylist, I’m an advocate of investing in swimwear as we need to feel good when we are more exposed. Would you agree?

Confidence is the most beautiful accessory a woman can wear, and when we are comfortable and we look good, we feel confident. I believe that Beliza is where chic sensuality and comfort meet. We create pieces that are designed to help each woman express her individual style. Flattering silhouettes, comfortable fabrics and designs that move with you. Our pieces also feature unique little details, such as our macramé straps or our bespoke ties and trims. It gives the wearer something special to be proud of. She’s not just another person on the beach. She’s an individual, with a voice and her own style.

From your most recent collection, do you have a favourite item?

My overall go-to piece is always the Kate bikini, but in our SS26 collection the Emerald theme was probably the most satisfying to design, and to see come to life on our clients. If I had to pick one style from it, I’d say Emy, with its stone embellishments — there’s something about the way the stones catch the light that still surprises me every time I see it worn. The Desierto print is a very close second. Honestly, it’s never an easy question — when you pour all your creativity into a collection, every piece feels like a favourite.

Hopes, dreams & aspirations for the future?

I love the feeling of freedom and total calm when I’m diving. Beliza is an ode to that freedom. I want to share that feeling with other women by building a lifestyle around the brand, a Beliza universe. My dream is to bring this to life by opening Beliza pop-up boutiques directly in beach clubs or coastal resorts. Places where our community can discover the brand in a relaxed, beautiful setting that reflects our spirit of freedom and elegance. That would be the pinnacle for me.
