The Summer Menu at 108 Brasserie, Marylebone

A big SN favourite, my husband and I headed to 108 Brasserie in London’s Marylebone recently for a showstopping dinner.

All set to indulge with their latest globally-inspired summer menu, we were also staying at the seamlessly attached and very chic Marylebone Hotel. It was an evening of celebration and decadence, and as always, the service and entire team’s attention to detail were each impeccable.

The gorgeous interior spans across two floors, and we sank into the ever-comfortable seating to enjoy our meal. An all-day dining destination, we’ve visited for lunch previously and raved about it afterwards, but this would be our first evening visit. The décor is absolute Instagram goals, with its mix between making a modern statement and ensuring timeless touches.

In amongst the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, we were guided through the wine list before settling on a suggested Merlot. All around us, the ambiance was buzzing, with diners delighting in their experience and lavish food alike.  To start, I chose the deliciously light Burrata with seasonal tomatoes, pesto and seeded crackers, a dish easily amended to be made gluten-free for me. My husband, meanwhile, tucked into the Steak Tartare, accompanied by crispy capers, quail egg yolk and sourdough. A tough choice to make, I also liked the sound of Shallot & Thyme Tarte Tatin with Crumbled Roquefort and Seabass Ceviche with Sweet Potato, Avocado, Plantain, Lime & Chilli too.

For our mains, we both went for Heritage Rib Eye Steak from the Josper Grill, although other standout options included: Dukkah-spiced Lamb Rump, Massaman Tiger Prawn Curry and a Whole Dover Sole.  Each savoury dish was ridiculously tasty, and they are perfect-sized portions.

Almost too full, but unable to resist the pull of pudding, I ordered Vanilla Crème Brulee with raspberries while my Mr devoured the Salted Caramel Fondant with crème fraiche. So more-ish, they were stunning desserts. YUM. New additions to the dessert menu this season also boast Apricot & Amaretti Tart with Clotted Cream, Pavlova with Summer Berries & Chantilly Cream and a vegan Raw Chocolate Panna Cotta served with Honeycomb.

Bold flavours and aesthetically pleasing presentation are the order of the day at 108 Brasserie, with classic offerings such as Fish and Chips with Pea Puree and Tartare Sauce, plus the 108 Hamburger with Pickles and French Fries also on the menu.

And for after dinner drinks, simply step into the nearby bar, a stylish destination with its own mini gin distillery and comprehensive cocktail list.

The whole meal was so incredible, we went back the next day for lunch because I needed another 108 Brasserie fix, before we travelled home to Northumberland. And I may have ordered the same dessert again too…

And for another day, the Pantry at 108 serves tempting afternoon tea. Plus, there’s also the perfect people-watching terrace for those al fresco meals over the warmer days and evenings ahead. As if we needed another excuse to return.
