Savoury choux buns make wonderful Christmas canapés; your guests won’t be disappointed with these marvellous morsels, filled with indulgent Davidstow 12 Month Mature Cheddar.
What You’ll Need:
- 125g water
- 2.5g salt
- 4g sugar
- 100g diced cold butter
- 62g flour
- 2 medium eggs
- 40g Davidstow® 12 Month Mature Cheddar, finely grated
What To Do:
- Pre-heat your oven to 160˚c.
- Gently heat the milk, butter, salt and sugar in a saucepan until the butter has melted, then bring to the boil.
- Once boiled, remove from the heat and gradually add flour. Beat well with a wooden spoon until the mixture starts to come away from the sides of the pan and is well combined.
- Once the mixture has cooled down slightly, gradually beat in the eggs until it’s well incorporated and smooth.
- Place this mixture into a piping bag and pipe small dots (approx the size of 10p coin) onto a greased baking tray.
- Finally sprinkle the finely grated 12 month old on top of the blobs and place into the oven for 19-20 minutes or until golden brown.
