Luxury Treehouses at Chewton Glen

Luxury Treehouses at Chewton GlenGet back to nature, albeit in luxury surroundings, at Chewton Glen’s luxury treehouses.

For those of you that ever wished you had a treehouse growing up, your wishes are soon to be answered – well for a night or two at least. This autumn, luxury New Forest hotel, Chewton Glen have opened up their brand new, luxury treehouse suites and StyleNest were lucky enough to try them out.

Having stayed at Chewton Glen previously, it’s perfect – great service, stunning spa, luxury suites, delicious food – everything you could ever want. But, if you’re after that something just a little bit special, a little out of the ordinary, Chewton’s treehouses are for you.

Built high up into the trees, the six leafy homes each comprise of two suits, which can be rented together or on their own. Lucky for us adults, but maybe a little disappointing for little ones, there is no rope ladder to climb up into your treetop abode. Instead, floating bridges join Chewton’s woodland path to the stunning luxury suites. Hidden by lush green foliage and decked out in wooden panels, the exterior sits in perfect harmony with the natural environment. In fact, if we hadn’t know what we were looking for we probably wouldn’t have even spotted the treehouses on our golf buggy ride down from the hotel check-in.

Inside, it’s safe to say our excitement continued. A vast, light drenched room awaited us, decked out in rough woods, warm homely tartans, soft creams and a log burning fire sat discreetly in the corner. Imagine you’re ideal country retreat – well Chewton’s treehouses are just that.

The open plan living area looks out onto your own private balcony (complete with hot tub no less), which overlooks the stunning valley below. Sit out with a blanket and a hot chocolate or relax in the bubbling hot tub with champagne in hand, and if you’re lucky you might just spot some deer prancing past.

The suites have just about everything to keep you occupied from board games to books, a vast DVD library accessible through Chewton’s nifty iPad room service, to a huge freestanding bath that looks out into the wilderness should you simply be craving some me-time. Alternatively, doing absolutely nothing seems equally as acceptable thanks to the tranquil atmosphere.

Choosing between the six different treehouse suites comes down to who you’re staying with and what your requirements are. For families, the Treehouse Loft Suite is great as adults can enjoy some peace and quiet in the valley-facing master bedroom with panoramic views, whilst little ones are tucked up in the secret loft room above. For those looking for a romantic getaway, the treehouses provide the perfect setting. Most notably, the Treehouse Hideaway Suite has a large private dining area and vast private terrace for secluded romantic evenings.

Although it’s quite nice to head up over to the main hotel in the evening for some fine dining in the Vetiver Restaurant and a cosy nightcap in the bar, dining in the treehouses offers a far more unique experience. Each suite has its own secret hatch were luxury food hampers can be delivered morning, noon and night. Executive Head Chef Luke Matthews and Vetiver Head Chef Andrew Du Bourg have created a exciting, seasonal and scrumptious menu if you’d rather stay in your warm secluded treehouse. From a selection of fresh fruit, juices, cold meats and cheese to wake up to, to evening pizzas and a Little Monkey’s menu there’s plenty to choose from. The hampers are delivered through the secret hatch in the wall, which we can tell you, excited the StyleNest team probably a little more than it should have.

All in all, there really isn’t anything we could fault the Chewton treehouses on. Stylish, unique and welcoming; they’ve managed to get it right for just about everyone. Little ones will revel in having a real life Lost Boys moment, whilst adults will be equally as impressed with the luxury of it all. We’re planning our next treetop trip already.
