Bruern Cottages

Luxury In the Cotswolds For All The Family

If you want luxury hotel level accommodation but prefer the independence of a self catering break then Bruern Cottages in the Cotswolds is the place for you.

In the approach to Christmas, I took a short break with the children and grandparents to the Cotswolds. I am a big fan of the Oxfordshire countryside, with a drive of under 2 hours from London, it is easy to get to but feels so tranquil and a million miles away from the Capital.

Located in the picturesque hamlet of Bruern, just 5 minutes from Burford, the pretty collection of 12 cottages offer the luxury and comfort you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Converted from the Victorian stable yard and outbuildings of Bruern Abbey, the quintessentially English interiors feature beautiful antiques and it feels like stepping into an interiors magazine with fabrics by leading designers such as Nina Campbell, Osborne and Little, Mulberry and Colefax and Fowler.

Varying in size, the smallest Copeand Saratoga, is ideal for couples, whilst Weir House the largest property, would be perfect for a family gathering.

The facilities on site are excellent and nestled amongst the stunning landscaped gardens, is a beautiful spa, an indoor heated pool and a fully equipped gym.

The pool is brilliant for kids- warm, shallow with floats and noodles and scattered around the pool are sun loungers for you to relax in.

Outside the spa is the where the facilities for the kids really come into their own. An  outdoor play area fully equipped with enough bits and pieces to entertain your little ones all day long. My children loved the two-storey ‘wendy house’, swings, slides, and fun retro pedal cars and tractors. There is also a heated play cabin full of dressing up clothes, toys and books.

We had a wonderful stay at Bruern Cottages, so if you want a baby and child-friendly ‘home away from home’ this is the perfect place. It really proves that luxury and child friendliness can be mixed successfully.
