TruBE on demand training

TruBeWe all know that January is the month of promised commitments, healthier living, the famed “veganuary” and gym memberships galore…but for many of us February takes the weight off our shoulders. We allow excuses and schedules to rule our exercise regime, and we are more focused on spoiling ourselves with the latest spring wear than buying neon coloured sports bras.

But for those of us who are truly committed to getting that summer body back, or genuinely want to work on our fitness levels, TruBe is your saviour. The latest in on-demand fitness, TruBe Personal Training App has been designed to remove any excuses and make personal training accessible, enjoyable and seamless. Logistical nightmares, gym-phobias or bad weather dictating our workouts is a thing of the past. StyleNest reveals just exactly why TruBe is rocking the world of personal fitness.

It’s a gloomy, late January, Saturday morning and I don’t want to move from bed. Breakfast is being whipped up by my partner and my couch is calling my name, enticing me with the next episode of Making a Murderer. But it’s January, and I haven’t managed to fit in any form of exercise all week – yes I am using the bad weather/too busy excuses that so many of us know all to well. So, instead of allowing myself to be defeated, I have my partner in crime TruBe to save me from morphing into a couch potato.

TruBe sessions can be booked at any time, for any level and most importantly anywhere! Sessions can be reserved last minute or up to four weeks in advance and can take place wherever –just pop the address in the location field and ta-da. If your living room doesn’t have the room for kettle bell swings, then choose your local park. Want to squeeze in a mind-melting yoga session at work? TruBe will come to you.

After downloading the app earlier that week, I fill out the fitness profile and choose my morning choice of exercise– it’s as simple as that. It is very easy to navigate, and for those of us who need visual stimuli, the app is definitely up there – it’s all swiping, tapping and gorgeous images that make you want to sweat! The options offer something for everyone including Pilates, Kickboxing, Yoga and of course Personal Training. I opt for a Pilates session, knowing that a good Pilates teacher is like gold dust in London.

The app works by taking your requirements and sending out a message to its network of highly qualified personal trainers. Once they accept your session, it’s go time! I manage to convince my partner that Pilates would be a nice, relaxing way to start the weekend, so we request our session to be for the two of us. That’s another great point about TruBe, each session is not only customised on location and time, but also on the number of people attending and the intensity of the training. So, if you fancy getting together a group of friends, or like me, a partner, then this is not only cost effective but also adds to the fun.

Once we have a match between our request and a personal trainer, we are given the option to read up about the trainer and get to know their qualifications and background. All TruBe personal trainers are subjected to a three stage interview, and after browsing the list of trainers we are in no doubt that all of these trainers are more than suitable to kick our butts, professionally of course. The plethora of athletes available includes ex-world boxing champions, ballet dancers and Olympians!

It’s so quick, I am shocked when our trainer arrives a few hours later, perfectly on time. We jump straight into it with a serious warm up and our trainer begins telling us how the workout will be structured. The session is completely tailored to our needs and each exercise is adjusted to both our levels. Whilst my partner is stuck in a downward dog, our trainer has me holding one minute planks! Our trainer has even brought her own TruBe branded mats, Pilates bands and she tells us if we ask for it she will even bring kettle bells.

After the session I feel energised and virtuous – it helps that I don’t need to worry about dodgy showers or queues for lockers. The workout was exactly what personal training should be about: bespoke training, personalised movements and lightened up with a bit of good fun!

The whole TruBe experience, from start to finish, made personal training for me not only less daunting but stress-free, accessible and adaptable. For those of us minding loved ones at home, TruBe is the perfect solution to keeping an eye on little ones whilst toning that tush, and for those of us with difficult schedules it means that sticking to class timetables is no longer a nuisance.

TruBe sessions are priced at £60 incl. VAT per session or bundles can be purchased at 4 sessions for £99, 8 sessions at £189 or 12 sessions at £269 per month. For more information visit their website www.trubeapp.com or search TruBe in the Apple store on your Apple device.
