The Mad Hatter’s Dorchester Afternoon Tea

mad hatter's tea party inspired cakes and the Dorchester's Promenade room The iconic Dorchester Afternoon Tea takes on an Alice and Wonderland twist this autumn, as the Mad Hatter comes to tea.

This holiday half term, make space in the diary as you and your little ones are invited to the Mad Hatter’s Annual Tea Party.  London’s iconic Dorchester hotel are putting on an afternoon tea like no other, inspired by the children’s classic Alice In Wonderland. And unlike most high teas, this is one that both grownups and little ones can enjoy.

From Monday 28 October to Friday 1 November, the Dorchester will team up with English National Ballet to transform the hotel’s promenade into an afternoon tea party of madness and magic.

A selection of Lewis Carroll inspired cakes will be on offer, from the Mad Hatter’s clock-shaped macarons to Queen of Heart sweets and even miniature edible teacups. A savoury selection of finger sandwiches and fresh homemade scones and pastries will be on offer too, as will a glass of champagne for the adults.

Entertainment will come from the English National Ballet who will be pirouetting their way through the tea. Aspiring ballet dancers or young thespians will also get the unique opportunity to dress up in some of the ballet’s archive costumes and plié between some of the iconic set pieces.

And of course it wouldn’t be a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party without the kooky character himself in attendance.  In fact the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Dormouse and Alice herself will be there to greet your little ones.

Sure to be a day out for the whole family and a magical memory to savour for years to come, make sure you book in for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party this October half term.
