Le Brunch at Coq D’Argent

A hidden gem, set in the sky, Coq D’Argent is a luxurious way to spend your weekend

I visited this French inspired restaurant for the Saturday Le Brunch menu and was initially blown away by the exclusivity of the location. Not only is it situated in the heart of the city, near St Paul’s Cathedral, there is a small lift entrance that whizzes you up to the rooftop and to the restaurant.

Walk in and you are faced with traditional yet stylish décor with a bar area to one side and the restaurant to the other, instantly you are greeted with huge smiles and a willingness like no other – the staff really help to make this experience what it is.

The Le Brunch menu is either a choice of two or three courses with the option to add bottomless champagne on top of that. We were lucky enough to try all three courses and let me assure you, each course was as delicious as the next. I started with a tomato and mozzarella salad, followed by some of the best mussels in a white wine, cream and chive sauce that I have ever tasted. As my Moët et Chandon was very generously being topped up I squeezed in the warm dark chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream – in hindsight (and how tight my jeans were becoming…) I probably didn’t need that, but hey…  if you can’t go all out in one of the cities fanciest restaurants, then when can you?

The atmosphere is also something to mention as not only is there the constant hum of friends catching up and champagne glasses clinking, there is also a live saxophonist, something which I personally loved and felt it added to the laidback (yet oh-so-together) vibe.

As our allocated two hours were drawing to a close, I was keen to soak in the location one more time and was kindly offered a tour around the rooftop – hidden gardens, outside sitting and drinking areas with faux fur throws and patio heaters and sensational views it is hard to see how you couldn’t love this place.

With irresistible food, an exclusive location and second-to-none service, Coq D’Argent makes the perfect place to catch up with the girls, impress a date or celebrate a family event – it will definitely be staying on my radar for a long time to come!

Two courses are priced at £26.50, three at £29.50 and an additional £40pp for unlimited Moët et Chandon. Le Brunch is available for two hours since seating time
