Bubble and Squeak Recipe

Master Chef Bubble & SqueakThis Bubble and Squeak Recipe is quick and easy to make, whilst still bringing a tasty and nutritional meal to the table for all of the family to enjoy.

MasterChef shares their top tips for this traditional dish, to ensure that Sunday roast leftovers never have to go to waste again.

Serves: 4

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 10-15 minutes

What you’ll need: 

  • 2 tbsp MasterChef Cotswold Rapeseed oil
  • 400g leftover roast potatoes
  • 400g leftover cooked vegetables
  • 25g butter
  • Salt and ground black pepper

What to do:

  • Roughly mash the potatoes and vegetables.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a frying pan and spread the mashed potatoes, butter and vegetables over the bottom of the pan, fry until crispy.
  • Season well with salt and pepper.

MasterChef Tips:

To serve: Place your Bubble and Squeak at the side of your plate. Serve with cold left-over roast beef or chicken. Finish with grated cheddar cheese

Also tastes great served with: sausages for a quick, mid-week treat
