Designer Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley

Manolo Blahnik BerkeleyCourtesy of The Berkeley, the traditional English tea is brought to you with a fashionable twist. Instead of crumpets and scones expect to be delighted with a Manolo Blahnik sling back chocolate biscuit decorated with baby blue icing and show-stopping edible pearls, and Tory Burch’s vibrant violet bikini biscuit smothered with tasty magenta icing.

The perfect dining experience for any fashionista, tea stands will be adorned with edible designs from the most revered designers. Some of which include Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen and Prada, whose inspiring concepts of fashion and style have dazzled catwalks year in and year out. With this selection of high end designers The Berkeley beautifully brings together high tea and high fashion for an unforgettable aesthetic culinary experience.

From Balencigia ‘s modern monochrome dark and white chocolate mousse dress set beautifully on a delicious pine nut brownie, to Dolce & Gabbana’s elegant and on trend pistachio green and vanilla stripped panna cotta dress sprinkled with chocolate ring promises, bringing charm to any fashionista’s table, you are sure to be amazed by what hits the tea tray at The Berkeley’s Designer Afternoon Tea. You will certainly have quite the trendy collection of tea time treats to indulge in this SS13.

With a great understanding that presentation is key at any fashion event, The Berkeley Hotel have wisely teamed up with Wedgewood, a popular provider of luxury home and lifestyle products, to create a bespoke collection of fine-bone china with a multi-coloured diamond pattern trim to accompany the equally trendy edible designs.

Reflecting the changing seasons in fashion, the Prêt-á-Portea menu will also change every six months. So you can wear your favourite design of the season and eat it too. For £39 (pp) you can enjoy delicacies a la mode from the Prêt-á-Portea menu. If you’re looking for something a little more sparkly, the Couture Champagne Prêt-á-Portea menu can be enjoyed for £55 (pp).

Sittings are from 1pm – 5:30pm every day. Dress code is smart casual, although if you ever needed an excuse to pull out all the stops then this is certainly the event to take that opportunity. After all if you can’t dress up for a fashionable high tea where can you?

The Designer Afternoon Tea is available all year round.  For more information and to book online visit www.the-berkeley.co.uk
