The Peak Health Club and Spa unveils suite of new treatments…

SKEYNDOR AquathermThe Peak Health Club and Spa, at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London’s Knightsbridge has had a treatment revamp; it’s bold, it’s brave and I hope others follow suit.

There are SO many fantastic brands out there that we don’t know about because spas are rarely brave enough to put them on their treatment menu, instead opting for the ‘safe’ tried and tested ‘popular’ brands. Often a brand can become popular because it has been around for years, which is obviously great and well deserved but science moves so quickly and if brands don’t move with the times they can become ‘dated’ quite quickly. Other brands become well-known because they have been bought out by the big power-house cosmetic companies with huge ad money and influence behind them. This is all fine and doesn’t mean the brands aren’t any good (far from it) but there are some incredible brands available that we just don’t have access to…..until now.

First on the new Peak menu is Skeyndor. Skeyndor has been around for nearly 50 years and has been at the cutting edge of product development throughout that time; Skeyndor were the first to launch liposomes onto the professional market (encapsulation of active ingredients to minimise irritation on the skin) without them so many products that we know and love probably wouldn’t exist! Skeyndor is results driven and those results speak for themselves- visibly turning back the clock when it comes to ageing.

Next up, you have Phyto5 a holistic brand based on the 5 element theory; wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Don’t be fooled by the ‘holistic’ description though, these products mean business! Each element is descriptive of seasonal and individual human energy patterns (i.e dehydration in winter, sensitivity in summer etc) and by using light therapy and lymph drainage, Phyto5 restores balance and energy to the system, whilst being dreamily relaxing!

Also new to the menu are Deborah Lippmann manicures and pedicures. Did you know Deborah is a professional jazz singer and the first person the Hollywood A-List call when they need a manicure?! So random! All of her polishes are named after songs, due to her musical roots, and all formulations are designed with nail health in mind. She has even designed a signature colour for The Peak called Virtual Insanity that matches their plum coloured uniforms perfectly! I had a pedicure and chose The Heat Is On- a pillar box red, 2 weeks later it still looked fresh and glossy!

Alongside all the other more familiar treatments; massage, waxing, IPL, Osteopathy, The Peak have also launched a new, raw menu of delicious nibbles to have after your treatment- basically they’ve got all corners covered to have you looking and feeling your absolute best!
