I chose the Remodelage Cellulite Treatment with the Parisian treatment creator, Martine de Richeville. Martine has over 17 years of health and beauty experience including acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and it shows. This treatment is not for the faint hearted but I knew instantly that I was (literally) in safe hands.
The Remodelage technique focuses on the body’s circulatory systems, clearing blockages and flushing out toxins which ultimately reduces cellulite and allows the body to function more effectively.
There is no fixed protocol to this treatment, Martine expertly searches for any built up fatty deposits and manually softens and splits the deposits to break them down and allow circulation and nutrients to flow back through the tissues. Martine explained that the treatment would work on the physical and also the psychological aspects of the body so it was very interesting the amount of attention she gave to my right knee (I have regular physio on that knee) and on my stomach- which is where I hold my stress. At times I found it incredibly painful but I had total faith in Martine. I am a firm believer in digestive health being the key to overall wellbeing so the thorough abdominal massage (overlooked in many treatments) was a very welcome addition to the treatment.
The Remodelage technique also works specifically on the liver, kidneys and bladder meridians; the most important organs to filter metabolic waste and flush out toxins.
I felt very light and fluid immediately after my treatment and I’m sure I was more energetic than usual too! Which, with 2 young children is a major feat in itself! I will definitely continue to have the treatment; I love the idea of focussing on problem areas (yes you, saddlebags) while balancing and boosting the system as a whole. Smooth legs here I come!
