Inspired by Jo Malone London’s charity garden initiative, new White Lilac & Rhubarb Charity evokes the blooming scent of an early summer garden.

Working alongside a number of different charities, the luxury fragrance brand has collaborated to raise money to support vulnerable communities who might be isolated due to mental health, poverty or disability. By giving them the opportunity to build picturesque gardens in the hearts of big cities across the UK, Jo Malone London’s charity garden initiative aims to use the power of gardens to improve the wellbeing of others in deprived situations.

Each project will be supported by Jo Malone London through the sale of the new Limited Edition White Lilac & Rhubarb Charity Candle (£42) set to be released in May. For every candle that is sold, Jo Malone London will make a donation equal to the full retail price of the candles to several registered charities.

The aroma of the candle is inspired by the summer months and is a daring, but successful, juxtaposition of vibrant rhubarb and a powdery lilac scent.

The donated funds will help cultivate gardens across the UK in London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Liverpool.

Proceeds will also go towards a new community garden in Manchester in partnership with the Whitworth Art Gallery, working alongside adults who are living with mental health problems.

On May 18, Jo Malone’s flagship store in Chelsea will also be celebrating summer by transforming the shop into a magical garden in bloom with the help of their partner St Mungo’s Broadway, a national charity for homeless people. This event will provide a source of employment for some of the homeless community who will be helping to grow and plant it.
