London Fashion Week designer Mary Katrantzou teams up with denim brand Current/Elliott this season, for an exclusive collaboration.
One of the most hotly anticipated collaborations of Spring Summer 13 has hit stores – Mary Katrantzou X Current Elliott.
The cult denim brand have teamed up with the toast of London Fashion Week, Mary Katrantzou to create a capsule collection that fuses Mary’s glorious prints with Current/Elliott’s downtime denim.
Taking lead from Greek-born, Katrantzou’s Spring Summer collection, the pieces are adorned with prints inspired by travel, postage stamps and bank notes. The prints translate perfectly onto Current/Elliott’s premium denim wear, taking the Katrantzou aesthetic from high end, art inspired luxe to cool, offbeat wearability.
Standout of the collection has to be the Ashdale Dress (£510). The shirtdress has wear-anywhere versatility, weekend lunch dates to city breaks, and thanks to it’s vibrant currency and travel document inspired print, it’s a must-have for the travel wardrobe.
Of course there are jeans too, and the Roadrunner Boyfriend Jean (£340) are a StyleNest favourite. White washed, with oversized passport stamps adorned all over, they shouldn’t work but they do. Pair with a slouchy plain tee and chunky heeled sandals this spring.
There’s also denim in the form of summer shirts too, like the sleeveless Acrobat Pink Shirt (£275). Clashed against a pair of printed trousers in a similar colour palette will give you a structured, modern take on summer boho.
All in all the collection is incredibly easy to wear and brings fashion fans a touch of Mary Katrantzou at a more affordable price point.
The collection is available online now from my-wardrobe.com and matchesfashion.com. Be quick before it sells out.
