Tschuggen Grand Hotel

Aussenansicht Tschuggen Grand Hotel SommerIt feels like summer has just begun but already we are planning for our winter break and what better way welcome to in the winter than with the Tschuggen Grand Hotel Private Mountain Experience.

Located in the quaint village of Arosa in the Swiss Alps, Tschuggen Grand Hotel is a 5 star luxury hotel which boasts stunning views over the mountains. The ski in and ski out hotel features four restaurants with its very own express train which transports guests directly to the slopes.

This season, the ski resorts of Arosa and Lenzerheide will combine becoming one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland and Europe. With 25 black runs, 72 red runs and 85 blue runs to explore, the ski resorts of Arosa and Lenzerheide offers 225km of ski runs, including 42 lifts between the winter season of 27 Nobember 2013 and 6 April 2014.

Refined, sophisticated and most of all cozy, the Tschuggen hotel is a destination to be enjoyed in both summer and winter. With mountain bikes on offer for the summer as well as ski hire for the winter, you can also indulge in the Spa Lounge all year round whilst the kids entertain themselves at the Tschuggen Junior Club.

Founded by Otto Herwig in 1883, after moving to Arosa to recover from a lung condition he transformed the hotel known as it is today after founding the Berghilf Sanatorium. With residence staying in the summer months, Herwig decided to transform the institute into a hotel for winter sports enthusiasts.

Today, the Tschuggen is bigger and better than ever. Boasting luxurious interiors courtesy of interior designer Carlo Rampazii and a spa designed by Mario Botta. The renowned Swiss architect who designed the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, has designed the spa set into the mountain so that the mountain energy infuses into the spa, creating the ultimate relaxing experience. Glass sails tower over the mountain, channelling light to the underground spa filled with treatment rooms, saunas and pools of water.

Enjoyed amongst the royals Prince William, Kate and Harry, Tschuggen Grand Hotel offers a wide range of activities for the whole family including ice skating, curling, hot air ballooning and sledging as well as making for a beautifully romantic setting.

The Tschuggen Grand Hotel offers guests exclusive access to the Arosa ski slopes area for one day before the official start of the ski season at the end of November – the “Private Mountain” experience.
