First things first, you should spend lots of time thinking about the type of holiday you want. Some people dream of doing nothing but lying on a beach for two weeks whereas others much prefer an action packed break in a challenging environment. A suitcase is an essential accessory when going on holiday. It keeps your clothes and other belongings safe and you can live out of it if necessary. There are many different types of suitcases for sale in the high street shops or online retailers, but budget will probably play a big part in the decision making process.

Hard shell suitcases tend to be more expensive because they are solid and designed to withstand greater pressures, but if you are keen on the idea of collecting a piece of designer luggage from the airport carousel, expect to pay even more.

If you do have expensive tastes, your best bet is to go shopping online for a smart new designer suitcase. Online retailers usually offer the most competitive prices because they have lower overheads and can afford to discount their products. Packing Your Suitcase

There is an art to packing a suitcase. You can’t get away with throwing everything in at random as your clothes will end up creased and wrinkled. Instead, fold everything up neatly and place your garments carefully inside the case. Put smaller items around the edge of the case and shoes on the bottom. Use thick beach towels as a protective cover at the top of the case and then close it securely.

Don’t forget to leave out any items you think you will need for the flight, for example medication, toiletries, electronic devices, your passport, money and travel tickets. Once your suitcase has been checked in, you won’t be able to retrieve anything from it.

It is sensible to pack your suitcase a few days before departure. Last minute packing is stressful and the later you leave it, the more likely you are to forget something. Finally, if you are flying to your holiday destination, make sure you weigh the suitcase to check it isn’t too heavy.
