Villa Dubrovnik

The Villa Dubrovnik, Croatia’s finest boutique hotel poses as one of Europe’s most luxury hotel’s in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities. Fastly escalating as the go-to destination of stylish cosmopolitans, this eclectic city offers sea, sun and Mediterranean cuisine.

Located less than an hour away from the airport, the Villa Dubrovnik is positioned on the cliffs of the St. Jacob precinct, merely a fifteen minute walk from the medieval Old City. Access to the hotel is via a lift built into the cliffs, which takes you down to the modern hotel featuring panoramic views across the turquoise sea.

Once in the stylish lobby, checked in and cool from the Croatian intense heat, we were given a brief tour of the hotel. A Venetian Vaporeto speedboat service offers complimentary shuttle transfers to and from to the Old City with a booking option for private visits to local islands. The Villa Spa Wellness and Beauty Facility offers bespoke treatments as well as state-of-the art fitness machines. The two hotel restaurants Pjerin and Giardino offer fresco-cuisine and the Rooftop SkyBar lounge is a luxury setting to watch the sun set or the stars twinkle for pre or post dinner drinks.

With 56 rooms and seven unique suites, the Villa Dubrovnik prides itself on operating a personal hotel with a familiar touch. Choose between The Villa Dubrovnik Royal Suite, Duke’s Suite, Romance Suite, Deluxe Suite, Loft Suite, Standard Suite, Garden Suite, The Villa Kolin Residences (a standalone villa), Executive Room, Deluxe Room or Superior Room. There is a style and grade of room to suit all.

Once shown to our sea-view room, complete with breathtaking views of The Island of Lokrum, StyleNest make our way down to the Bar Giardino for an al fresco bite. In a secluded terraced garden, lined with rich palm trees and fruitful orange and lemon trees, the coolly shaded setting makes for the perfect location for a light lunch.

The hotel’s secluded beach, a short walk down the cliffs from the hotel, is a discreet and private spot to lay back relax. With panoramic views of the adjacent islands and the sea thrashing against the rocks, it truly is an idyllic setting reminiscent of a postcard. For those who prefer a quick dip in the pool, the hotel’s luxury pool located within the Villa Spa offers the perfect cool down after a day’s bathing in the sun. With open windows and cabanas and loungers outside, this is the perfect area for families with kids to relax and play in the sun.

After a heavy day’s graft in the sun, the Villa Spa located over two floors offers a range of facial and body treatments to help cleanse the body, soul and mind whilst helping to restore, energise and unwind. Access to the Spa’s sauna is welcome to guests as well as tailored fitness, nutrition and anti-stress programs. A personal trainer will guide you through physical activities and in conjunction with spa treatments, help you achieve a desired body target. StyleNest sampled the Villa Spa’s Diamond Bed Treatment where a combination of sounds, lights and pulsating movements will send you to sleep in seconds.

When you need somewhere to escape the stifling heat and cool down, the hotel’s lounge area is a quiet area where you can sit, relax and enjoy the library’s selection of books whilst hydrating with a refreshing cocktail.

For dinner, the Pjerin restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine offering a selection of fresh fish, succulent meats and pastas. With views overlooking the Old City it was one of the most romantic settings on the island.

Breakfast, also served in the Pjerin restaurant offers picturesque views whilst serving a variety of breakfast culinary delights. From a choice of fresh fruits, to a selection of warm breads and pastries to mouth-watering blueberry pancakes with syrup or scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, there is a range of breakfast treats on the menu to help start your day with a smile.

By the second evening, the barman in the SkyBar knew our drinks by memory and swiftly delivered an Amaretto on ice along with a Whiskey on the rocks. Located on the roof terrace of the hotel, the glimmering lights of the Old City was the perfect moonlight setting for a nightcap.

The Villa Dubrovnik is a five star hotel that offers the ultimate privacy and caters for all vacations, be it romantic, a family holiday or a trip away with friends. The hotel offers an experience of luxury indulgence. Whether you wish to relax by the pool or in the spa or fancy trying out their wide range of water sports, there’s an activity for all.
