Aimée Downey

Aimée Downey founded chic jewellery brand ffreckle. during lockdown, tapping into her own fashion expertise. A project created to reach everyone seeking an affordable style fix, ffreckle. launched last month to rave reviews. From gorgeous rings to earrings, bracelets and necklaces, the swoon-worthy jewellery range comes in at a purse-friendly price bracket.

An ideal excuse to treat your mum, bestie (whose birthday present I just bought from ffreckle.), sister and yourself, our fave pieces so far include the Geo Ring, Moon Necklace and Rope Bracelet.

I grabbed five minutes with Aimée, finding out about her new business venture and where she gathers inspiration…

Tell us about the idea behind ffreckle.?

ffreckle. started as a project during lockdown! I’ve always been into fashion and personally have always used jewellery to complete every outfit.

I wanted to create a collection that was a mix of both statement and simple pieces at a good price point for everyone, and so ffreckle. was born!

Did you have a very clear idea of the pieces you wanted to stock?

I did. I wanted something for everyone. Whether you keep things quite classic or you like your jewellery to be a statement! I went off my own personal style and current trends. The Geo Ring was my first piece and has been the most popular which feels great.

How has the launch been received so far?

I’ve been blown away by the response so far! We sold out of a lot of our pieces and are restocking a lot sooner than I had imagined. It’s been amazing watching it happen.

What’s your favourite way to spend any downtime?

I love getting out for long walks, reading a good book and chilling in front of a series (patiently waiting for The Crown to start).

Where do you find your own personal style inspiration?

I live in London, so style inspo is everywhere! I’m forever walking past people in the street and taking a mental note of great outfits! I have my favourite Instagram girls as well. There’s so many to choose from but I particularly love @monikh @smythsisters and @emmahill at the mo.
