Quentin Blake brought some of our favourite childhood characters to life, including the grotesque Mr & Mrs Twit and The Fantastic Mr Fox, and they are now on show at The Founding Museum’s latest exhibition.

Quentin Blake’s illustrations were originally designed to have therapeutic effects on children, which is fitting, as The Foundling Museum was England’s first hospital for abandoned children.

Visitors to the museum will see paintings of characters from planet Zog, a mother and baby’s first encounter underwater, jugglers and tightrope circus performers – perfect for little (or big) imaginations.

Family Fun sessions at the museum incorporate activities based on themes of the exhibition. They are suitable for children aged between 3 – 12 years however, younger children may need some adult help. There is also an Activity Backpack available to amuse infants, so there is definitely something for everyone.
