Festival No 6 Portmeirion

Festival No 6Head to the idyllic Welsh coast this weekend to sample the arts, culture, food, music and more at the No 6 Portmeirion Festival.

Designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the coastal village of Portmeirion in Wales is akin to a quintessential Italian seaside village. As one of the UK’s best-kept secrets, this fairytale like location nests between the imposing peaks of Snowdonia and the calming Dwyryd estuary, on it’s own private peninsula.

From 14-16 September 2012, pretty Portmeirion will be home to Festival No.6, a celebration of arts, culture, food and music all brought together in one of the most stylish and unique settings the UK has to offer.

The festival will take place throughout the village, so whether you’re watching a live band in the regency Town Hall or an impromptu street performance in the vibrant Colonnade Gardens; there’ll be plenty of goings-on to spoil yourself with over the weekend.

Highlights of the festival include a wealth of iconic music acts from the likes of Primal Scream, New Order and Tim Burges. There are six entirely unique venues playing host to the live acts and an eclectic mix of genres will be covered from rock ‘n’ roll to folk, house to classic Welsh choirs.

Foodies can explore a mouth watering food and drink menu that includes everything from Welsh burgers to pop-up champagne bars. Sip rum based cocktails from experts, Krakan whilst you watch a band or head over to London’s cult breakfast café, The Breakfast Club where their pop-up will be serving up the most important meal of the day morning, noon and night.

After an evening of good music, food and wine revelers can rest their heads in a number of Portmeirion locations. Splurge on four-poster bed decadence at Portmeirion’s historic castle, or get back to nature in a luxury tipi, yurt or bell tent.

Weekend and day tickets are still available starting from £55 for adults and £38.50 for 11-15 year olds. Children aged 10 and under go free. So, why not escape the hustle and bustle this weekend and hold on to what might be the last sunny weekend of the year. We couldn’t think of a better place to spend it.
