Christmas at Coworth Park

Coworth ParkChristmas is a time to celebrate the joy of loved ones, there’s no other time of the year when the air is so filled with that magical December feeling, and all we want to do is gather our loved ones near and enjoy their company. But things aren’t always as blissful as that, the stresses of running a perfect Christmas calendar can have the best of us feeling pulled in every direction. We’ve all been there – squabbling over how to cook the turkey, whether to watch the Queen’s Speech or a Disney classic, and don’t even get me started on the fireworks that go off when someone notices mum forgot the pigs in blankets! Why not leave it to the professionals…?

Coworth Park, The Dorchester Collection’s beautiful hotel in the heart of the Berkshire countryside will be opening its doors on Christmas Eve to host guests for a lavish three day affair of sumptuous food, drink, and merriment.

Christmas stays in luxury hotels are always a real treat, a chance for all the family (mum included) to spoil themselves rotten and leave the hard work to someone else. On Christmas Eve guests will be welcomed to proceedings with a bottle of champagne chilled and waiting in their room. Afternoon tea is served in the drawing room before a three course supper. There’ll be movies and fireside story telling for the children, and midnight mass is just a short transfer away courtesy of the hotel. Finish off the evening with hot chocolate while listening to the resident pianist tinkle away on the keys.

Christmas day begins with gifts being delivered to the children by Santa Claus himself, followed by a seasonal breakfast. Pre-lunch drinks will be poured alongside festive entertainment, before sitting down to either a four course lunch in the barn or an indulgent five course lunch in the Restaurant. The Queen’s Speech will be broadcast live in the drawing room, followed by an open house buffet dinner in the evening.

A sophisticated brunch will be served on Boxing Day, before guests can pick from a choice of activities that’ll keep everyone happy. There’s Segway racing and falconry displays if you’re feeling adventurous, wine tastings for the grownups, and even a chocolate masterclass for those who’ve not yet had enough to eat! Afternoon tea will be served, before rounding the stay up with a three course supper.

For some people Christmas is all about being at home, but if you’re looking to escape the stress this year there’s probably no where better than Coworth Park.

The Christmas Package at Coworth Park starts from £415 per person per night in a superior Stable room, based on two sharing.
