If you are looking for a dress for a special occasion then new British brand Susie & Rose should be on your go-to list. Offering luxury limited edition hand tailored children’s wear and bespoke designs, the brand is the creation of mother and daughter team Susie and Rosie Barrett.

Mother Susie has a wealth of fashion design experience. Starting back in the 1960’s she began as a dressmaker in theatres and designed costumes for David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, before going on to work for British fashion icon, Jasper Conran. Growing up surrounded by the fashion business, daughter Rosie has been inspired by her mother’s passion and from a young age knew she would too design and make her own costumes.

The brand places a huge emphasis on the fabrics they source, using beautiful prints and textures with new designs issued every few weeks ‘Our aim is to create a world away from generic mass produced fashion. We want our customers to own something that is beautiful and unique, that stands out from the crowd’ says Rosie.

After ordering your dress online, each piece is hand tailored in the workshop and you can follow your order being made on their blog and twitter page. Sizes start from 6months and go up to age 8yearsand take two weeks to make.
