The brand’s highlights are the adorable Design Your Own Jumper range, where customers can choose the colour, trims, motif and even add a school-style name label in the inside to ensure no little fashionista misplaces their favourite jumper. Set up in late 2011, Olivier Baby and Kids is the brainchild of London-based sisters Emma Davison and Alice Smith. Both mums, the duo has a passion for knits and Emma, who designs the collections, is herself a keen knitter. They’re designs are put to the test by a tough judging panel – the sister’s own five children who give the collections a big thumbs up.
Although the brand prides itself on fine cashmere knits, there are plenty of other beautiful baby and kids pieces to choose from. For Spring Summer 13, we love the ultra adorable Liberty print romper in Strawberries print, and the sweet little girls’ smock dresses, again in those ubiquitous Liberty florals.
As well as being stylish an practical, Olivier’s designs are also made with a moral conscience. The beautiful, 100% cashmere that the brand uses is made by a community of women living in Bulgaria, who knit the pieces straight from their homes. With so much ‘throw-away’ fashion on the British high street, Olivier is a refreshing approach to childrenswear and British design.
