Jools Oliver launches a second kid’s collection for Mothercare this Spring/Summer, and it’s even more adorable than the first.
Comprising clothing for newborns, boys and girls up to 5 years, accessories, gifts and children’s homewear, Jool’s Little Bird line is simply adorable and plays on the nostalgia of childhood and the playfulness and fun that those years bring.
As a mum of four, Jools knows a thing or two about children’s clothes and what they do and don’t want to wear. The collection sums this up perfectly – playful and full of fun, yet age appropriate and practical.
The second collection moves on from the hugely successful first collection with ease, building up the brand’s signature style and taste – most notably through the line’s sweet signature motifs of colourful rainbows, magic toadstools and little fawns.
Some favourites from the debut collection are back with a Spring/Summer update – think retro polo shirts for cheeky little boys and floral smocks for stylish little girls.
There are some entirely new pieces too, our favourite being the red rain mac for little boys and girls – the perfect spring must-have for staying dry this season. And starting at just £16 for the mac, the Little Bird collection is priced affordably.
The collection was inspired by one of Jools’ very own piece of clothing from childhood, a white Mothercare nightie embroidered with a sweet fawn emblem The nightie was passed down from Jool’s three older sisters to her and more recently to each of Jool and Jamie’s four children.
“It has been washed too many times to count, but still looks just as good as it did on its first outing. It’s no surprise that it came from Mothercare – the store has always been a much-loved family favourite,” explains Jools.
Other standouts of the collection have to be the super cute PJs – a nod to the 70s in a rainbow coloured print of toadstools, fawns and of course, little birds. The same signature motifs have been crafted into iron-on patches so your little ones can have a go at customising their own wardrobe, be it on a blazer or a bag.
