George & The Prince’s Trust

George and the Princes Trust home accessories collections

George home and interiors have partnered the Prince’s Trust this spring, for two special collections designed by young designers, Amanda Bradley and Dimitria Jordan.

You can update your home with a conscience this spring, thanks to George’s collaboration with the Prince’s Trust. The partnership sees George team up with two of Britain’s hottest upcoming inferiors designers, to create two new and exclusive collections for SS14. From this, 10% of all retail prices will be donated to the Prince’s Trust, which works to give venerable young people the confidence, skills and support they need to better their lives.

The first collection has been designed by 28 year old, Liverpool based Dimitria Jordan. Since childhood Dimitria has had a passion for greetings cards and design. And so, when she was out of work yet fuelled with ideas and nowhere to execute them, she contacted the Prince’s Trust for help. With the charity’s assistance, Dimitria took park in a four-day course and was given a loan and mentor to launch her business, Love Faith and Hope.

Her collaboration with George takes inspiration from the 1950s Riviera look – summery, bright and fun with an edge of nostalgia. Highlights of the collection include her pom pom trimmed ‘Awesome’ cushion, £12, and her cute retro inspired kitchen canister baking set, £5, perfect for unleashing your Mary Berry.

In stark contrast to Dimitria’s style, George has also worked with home accessories designer Amanda Bradley. The 25year old, Cleveland based designer was also helped by the Prince’s Trust after being made redundant. This season Amanda looked to the monochrome trend, adding playful, colourful accents with sugary pastel shades. From here, she was inspired by Victorian natural history illustrations, introducing whimsical bug or haunting fairytale inspired bunny prints onto her pieces.

Amanda’s dragon fly illustrated mugs, £4 and glass worktop saver with kooky cutlery print, £4 are two of our favourites.

Both Amanda’s and Dimitria’s designs will add instant spring updates to your home,. All at affordable price points, whilst giving a little back to charity too.
