We’re getting closer and closer to the most wonderful time of the year. However, for all the fun and festivities Christmas can bring, the lead up to it can be rather stressful. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with everything you’ve got to do, take a deep breath. You’ve got time and there are plenty of ways you can sort out your Christmas spending.

Spread Costs

A lot of people make the mistake of trying to buy everything all at once – they just want it out the way and sorted. However, you should aim to spread out your costs every week. Make a list of everything you need to buy, and then create a timeline of when you need the items by. This can help you avoid one lump sum payment. If you’ve ended up in a tight financial spot, payday loan lenders can offer you help.

Savvy with Sales

During this time of year, a lot of shops will be offering sales ‘just in time for Christmas.’  However, these so-called deals aren’t as good as they appear. This doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to find a bargain. There are lots of online resources you can use to help you save money with your Christmas shopping. Another simple trick you can try is to add an item in your basket and then leave it a day. You might get an email offering you a discount to encourage you to finish your purchase.

Secret Santa

Rather buy a present for every person in your circle of friends, why not suggest Secret Santa? This way you only have to buy for one other person. It can be quite fun the smaller the budget is – that way people have to get creative with their gift-giving.

Get Crafty

Of course, one of the best ways you save money at Christmas is to go down the homemade route. It shows your loved ones you’ve put time and effort into creating a gift you think they’ll love. You don’t have to be an artistic genius, either. There are so many simple, homemade, gift ideas you can try. You know what your loved ones like, and they’re bound to appreciate your efforts.

Understandably, you want to make everything perfect this Christmas, but you don’t have to break your bank account to do it. Prioritise what’s most important and enjoy time with your loved ones in whatever way you can. How are you spending Christmas this year?
