Sartoria

Dining Room wideSituated in the heart of the London’s Mayfair, nestled in the famous Savile Row, homeland of British tailoring and a stones throw from London’s luxurious Bond Street, lies Sartoria.

The authentic Italian restaurant is adorned with Milanese inspired interiors blended with an element of London style. The ideal setting for a business lunch, post late-night shopping dinner and intimate date, Sartoria offers a romantic but yet relaxed dining experience with delectable food and impeccable service. With a newly refurbished bar offering a blend of small and large plates with quick bites and nibbles, Sartoria is the perfect venue for a drink with friends as well as lunch in a rush.

The traditional and contemporary Italian cooking by Head Chef Lukas Pfaff acknowledges his Italian roots and grandmother’s cooking which taught him how to cook.

From the moment we sat down we were encouraged sit, back, relax and take our time. Sinking back into the luxuriously comfortable cushioned chairs, we perused the menu with an apéritif of champagne and grazed on a wide selection of freshly baked Italian breads. Sartoria certainly know how to look after you.

You can choose between the À la Carte menu or the Tuscany Regional Menu, a seasonal menu, after careful consideration, we chose the À la Carte menu. We went traditional and opted the Insalata di carciofi followed by the vitello Milanese. Both were true to their Italian roots, rustic yet fresh. To accompany, StyleNest ordered a side of hand cut potatoes with rosemary, olive oil and sea salt as well as zucchine fritte.

The blend of textures and tastes transported us to the Med. The entree, although simple was impressive –  the butter soft artichoke was complemented with crunchy almonds and zesty lemons. To tickle our taste buds, we were served an intermediate course of ricotta, spinach, gnocchi, butter, sage ravioli which popped into a melted creamy finish. To follow, StyleNest had the succulent veal with crispy hand cut potatoes with a fluffy centre and crunchy melt-in-the mouth deep cried courgettes. A classic Italian dish that was executed with perfection.

The sommelier was as helpful  as we expected and suggested some great wines to accompany each course.

We’re not quite sure how we managed to find room, but we finished our delectable meal with a scoopful of ice cream and a shot of espresso to help aid our post meal slumber. The perfect finish.

A stylish atmosphere with flawless service and impeccable cuisine, Sartoria is a hidden gem in the heart of London which meets all taste buds and occasions.
