As you enter the restaurant, a poke bar tempts you with raw fish, fresh seafood and oysters, all gleaming on display. Approaching the dining area you are lured in by moody lighting with neon accents, setting the mood for the perfect date night.
Nestling into the cosy banquette seating, we peruse the menu and opt for a range of sharing starters and mains including: Classic Ahi Poke, Prawn Tempura with coriander salsa and truffle aioli and for the mains Black Roe classic – Whole Lobster Mac N’ Cheese as well as BBQ Chicken with chipotle miso and a side of Beef Salt Fries.
The Ahi Poke bowl offers an infusion of flavours with every bite whilst the Prawn Tempura were tender and crispy with a subtle zest from the salsa. The showstopper really is the Lobster Mac N’ Cheese. A creamy blend of flavours from the East and West that sumptuously melt into one bite. Leaving a little room left for dessert, we opted for the Churros with hot melted sauce. Golden and crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside, the perfect finale to a wonderful dinner.
Downstairs, a large chef’s table offers an exclusive dining experience for guests on the lookout for a truly unique dinner, looking into the open kitchen through a glass wall, enjoying the exceptional service and quality dishes of the restaurant above.
