Karaka Tan Tan dish at SHORYU

Karaka Tan Tan at SHORYU

A whole host of new restaurants and bars are popping up in the iconic Carnaby Street area. Whether you’re visiting the area’s shops or stopping by for post work drinks, make sure it’s on your must-visit list this summer.

Carnaby Street and its surrounding areas has long held an affiliation to London’s music history, subcultures and 60s inspired fashion. But currently, it’s the destination’s eating and drinking haunts that are getting us excited.

First up is Shoryu, a Japanese restaurant specialising in ramen dishes. You may know the name already, having already opened locations on Regent Street and in Soho. The Carnaby reataurant, nestled in the revamped Kingly Court offers something a little different however, with exclusive dishes and offers only available there. Brush up on your chopstick skills and try one of their sticky Tonkotsu ramen dishes, washed down with an impressive and extensive sake menu.

For something a little more wholesome, nip around the corner to Kingly Street where you’ll find healthy food brand, The Detox Kitchen’s first standalone store. Coined as the place “where healthy meets delicious,” The Detox Kitchen serve up some seriously tasty dishes, juices and treats all jam packed with seasonal, fresh, superfood ingredients. It’s the perfect spot for those looking to get a little leaner this summer or those with wheat, dairy, sugar intolerances.

London’s obsession for serving up minimalist menus continues at the newly opened, Whyte & Brown. Chicken is the dish of choices here, whether it’s slow roasted, chargrilled or stacked up in a burger. Beer fans will also be happy to hear the impressive list of craft beers on offer from Glasgow’s St Mungo to Whyte & Brown’s very own whyte and brown ales.

And of course, Carnaby wouldn’t be Carnaby without a spot of shopping.  The famous shopping street is awash with exciting new openings and flagship stores.

Check into ELEVENPARIS for some Kate Moss inspired separates, or Amsterdam’s cult favourite, Scotch & Soda – the Carnaby store is set over two expansive floors stocking Maison Scotch, Amsterdam Blau and Scotch & Soda. And finally, our latest find Brandy Melville, an Italian brand inspired by downtime LA cool.
