While our cousins across the Atlantic may disagree in terms of significance, July 4th sees an amazing new event for families taking pride of place for discerning Summer day planning and staycations.

The venue is Kate Humble’s stunning working farm in the heart of Monmouthshire’s Wye Valley, and the day promises a rich and varied celebration of the Outdoors.

Humble by Nature is co-hosted by Genevieve Taylor, who will be offering wonderful interactive showcases outdoor cooking alongside the very best local foragers, producers and cooks as showcased in her new book ‘How to Eat Outside’.

There will be a variety of food and drink, but this is much more than a foodies’ paradise. Buschcraft, den building, kids cooking, crafts, mucky play and much more will introduce the joy of nature in an exhilarating way for kids, and remind parents of the wealth of fun and activity available to us outdoors.

Add animals galore, live music and entertainment and the perennial joy of a campfire sing-song, and you have a captivating, unique way to celebrate summer in a life-affirming, wonderful way. There’s even camping and Sunday brunch if you can’t drag yourself away from the fun, and we can think of no better way of shelving the tech, taking a deep breath and immersing yourself in the splendour of nature.

Saturday July 4th. Doors Open at 10am. Festival midday til midnight.
