Covetable – Nike Payaa

Nike PayaaI understand entirely that the Nike Payaa may be something of a marmite trainer silhouette.

Moreover, I do recall a couple of years back swearing off buying trainers full stop.

That, it transpires, was far too premature, and I am clearly no to be trusted.

Indeed, save for the odd New Balance, a ton of Superegas and a few Jack Purcells recently it is my long-standing love affair with Nike which has come back to the fore.

This particular outing was apparently inspired by a Native Alaskan boot, and as such is in keeping with the legacy of the Rift, Free and Roshe which this seems most like shape and fit wise.

It’s a stretchy, one-piece upper with some crazy laces from the future, and depending on what floats your boat is innovative and gorgeous or plain ugly.

I fall in the former camp, and will be buying a pair forthwith, and cutting about like I’m from the future, but with all my usual kit, family and pals.

Available now in monochrome cargo and this midnight navy.

Nike Payaa priced at £70 available at www.nike.com
