Bring some NY cool to your summer wardrobe this year as New York designer Karen Walker joins forces with Uniqlo. Adding to the global high street brand’s long list of capsule collection, which includes Lulu Guinness, Orla Keily and Suno to name a few, the partnership brings together Uniqlo’s laidback ease with Walker’s effortlessly cool NY style.
The collection comprises six summer tops, all drawing inspiration from Walker’s penchant for an opposite. So think oversized shapes juxtaposed with a girlish frill trim, cute ditsy prints mixed with tough monochrome.
A mum herself to five year old daughter Valentina, Walker’s capsule collection offers the prefect summer separates for busy mums. From the morning school run to work or lunch with friends, these hugely versatile tops nail practical and stylish in one. A kid’s capsule collection for little girls has been launched at Uniqlo in the US in conjunction with the women’s line, but is unfortunately unavailable at present in the UK.
Priced at just £12.90 each, Uniqlo’s latest capsule collection offers an affordable way to not only update your summer wardrobe, but invest in some of Karen Walker’s luxury too.
Favourites of the collection are the sweet and summery strawberry print tee. With it’s frilled trim it’ll take you from day to night, shopping to cocktails paired with your favourite skinny jeans and the addition of heels and a clutch.
The cream and navy playing card print tee comes in an oversized shape to flatter upper arms, tum and any areas ladies might be conscious about – ideal if you’re in post-pregnancy phase or looking for a chic and simple beach cover up.
Although a regular on the New York Fashion Week schedule, Walker is originally from New Zealand, and this Uniqlo collection will only add to her global appeal.
