As we all know Brazil are to host next month’s hotly anticipated World Cup. But if like us you know more about your Prada’s than your Pele’s, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s not just football the country will be offering next month.

Online, luxury fashion boutique Farfetch.com have launched ‘Destination Brazil, ‘ a celebration of the country’s leading design talent. 15 designers in total have been picked to represent their country, including Osklen, Patricia Viera, Martha Medeiros, Lenny Niemeyer, Blue Man, Mixd, Cris Barros, Uma, Zapalla, Fernanda Yamamoto, Brigitte, Giuliana Romanno, Juliana Jabour, Vitorino Campos, and Emannuelle Junqueira.

“There is a local version of Farfetch in Brazil that is currently working with 90 designers, selling to Brazil only and exploring the domestic market. We chose the 15 designers for Destination Brazil based on their potential appeal to a global audience,” said José Neves, CEO and founder of the brand.

With designers such as Barbara Casasola and Lucas Nascimento now a firm fixture on the London Fashion Week schedule, Brazilian designers are getting more exposure than ever before. Where once the Brazilian fashion market was seen to be all brash colour and heavily branded pieces, the European market is taking their designers more seriously, opening them up to the wider fashion industry.

Ones to watch from Destination Brazil include, Osklen for sporty colour blocking and 70s inspired accessories, as well as Andrea Marques for her ladylike silhouette and monochrome print work.

Destination Brazil is now open at farfetch.com
