There is no doubt about it. Weddings can cost a lot of money. Some people just don’t have thousands of pounds to spend on one day. With the average wedding costing a typical house deposit, it is easy to see why some couples priorities have changed. Which is why it’s understandable to see some brides try and the cut the costs down.

Brides typically look at some of the biggest costs and try to reduce those costs down. This is usually done by looking at the day you marry, by choosing a friday, sunday or even midweek. It can be done by looking at the time of year. You could even do away with some of the normalities like a formal sit down meal, or expensive food choices. However, there are some things that you shouldn’t scrimp on. With that in mind I thought I would share with you what some of those things are.

Wedding stationery

Stationery is one of those things brides think they can save on. While making things yourself can save you quite a bit, sometimes it is worth looking at the bigger picture. It’s great if you are particularly resourceful and crafty, but not so good if you aren’t so great at that. Stationery can set the tone for your day, so it’s vital to get it right. So if you want Luxury wedding stationery then go for it. You are sure to think of other ways to save money. A great tip is to not take the first price, or even enlist the help of friends who are crafty to help you.

The dream dress

Many brides to be head to shops and hunt out their dream dress. But naturally, the way things are with budgets, once you have found the style you want you head to the internet. This might be to find a comparison in price, but often it is to see if you can get the same dress or similar much cheaper. This is when people turn to popular sites like eBay. While not every seller is like this, you only have to look a little harder in Google searches to find some horror stories. This is where people have ended up buying fake dresses and poorly made replicas of their dream dress. A wedding dress uses luxurious fabrics and often has hand stitched details. This is where the difference in price comes in. Like anything, just be wary and do your research when purchasing online. It can save you some money, but it could also cost you a big chunk of your budget if not done right.

The wedding party outfits

Similarly, you need to have the same regard for the bridal party outfits. Again searching for cheaper alternatives could cost you more in the long run. Your wedding party is on the majority of your pictures, and you have control in what they wear. So make sure that you make the right choice and have the same courtesy for their outfits. Money can be saved elsewhere, but the memory of your pictures will last a lifetime. Again do your research before making any rash purchases or decisions.

Flowers

Weddings are often filled with flowers. Which is why this is one area you need to think about when it comes to your budget. A great way to do this is to consider all your options. I understand fresh flowers can be quite costly, which is why false flowers are growing in popularity. This is where you can save a lot of money on the overall cost but still get a great looking array of flowers. This is because false flowers have come a long way. They look very realistic these days and gives you the flexibility to create the look you want.

Venue decoration

The last thing to consider would be the venue decoration. Of course, the logical thing to think about would be the less decoration, the lower cost. But the risk of that is having a venue space that doesn’t look very celebratory. This is where instead of thinking less is more, look at what you can do as cheaper alternatives. Venues may include decorations in the overall cost. But you may find that the total spend is a lot less by creating something yourself This means you can offer a saving without sacrificing the style. Also, it’s worth checking out eBay for people selling their decorations from their big days. Often people put in a lot of effort and have no use for some of the products once their day is over. This could offer you an amazing saving.

I hope these offer you some great nuggets advice when it comes to planning your big day.
