Autumn Fashion Trends for 2017

Autumn is definitely upon us, and as we finally admit defeat and relegate our summer dresses and sandals to the back of our wardrobes, it’s time to think about what we should be wearing for the new season. This autumn/winter’s newest fashion trends are good news for fans of the eclectic and the eccentric, because almost anything goes. From corporate queens to granny chic, there is the perfect trend out there to suit everyone this season. Here are some of our favourite fashion trends for Autumn 2017:

Bring Back Bling

We have good news for glamorous girls: sequins are back! A fantastic look for women of all shapes and sizes, if you’re looking for a new party frock then make it a shiny, sequinned or embellished one. We love plus size party dresses with sequin embellishment: choose a dress with sequins patterned to highlight your assets for the most flattering look. Chanel, Dolce and Gabanna and Isabel Marant all added razzle dazzle to their collections, and modern futuristic silver was the order of the day. Buy your perfect shiny party dress now and wear all season long.

Belt Up!

Waist belts are back for Autumn 2017, and can be used to cinch in everything from coats, dresses, shirts and knitwear. Drawing in your waist looks incredibly feminine, and is a great way of creating a natural waist (and curves) if you have a slender frame. This is a trend that is all about highlighting the female form, which is why it is also one of the most popular plus size fashion trends of the season.

When it comes to choosing the right belt, almost anything goes! Skinny belts have a prim and proper vintage feel, whilst chunkier belts with studs and embellishments are modern and add an edgier and more urban feel.

Back to Blue

Forget fifty shades of grey, because this season is all about fifty shades of blue! Whether you’re buying your clothes from the high street or the high end, you’ll find plenty of blue options available in a kaleidoscope of different shades. Choose navy blue as a softer and more wearable alternative to black and then accessorise with your favourite more vibrant blue tone. If you choose to embrace all things blue then you’re in good company: on the catwalk, Bottega Veneta, Versace and Valentino all showcased head to toe blue outfits on their models.

Check Please!

If you’re looking for a new coat for Autumn 2017 and really want to make a style statement, then why not consider a checked coat? Checks are a statement pattern but they are also incredibly versatile: you can wear them over plain prints or layer up with other patterns to create a modern and eclectic feel.

The best thing about checked coats is that they can be worn anywhere: throw over a power suit and head to the office channelling the newest 1980s trend, or wear with jeans and a flannel shirt for a laid back and grungy 1990s feel.
