With the festive season behind us, StyleNest headed to the new Soholistic Nail Bar at Ham Yard Village to try out one of their luxury manicures.

The recently opened Soholistic Nail Bar is one of the many facilities on offer at the new Ham Yard Hotel, the main part of Ham Yard Village, a collection of shops, spa, bars and restaurants, all clustered together and hidden away in a pretty cobbled courtyard near Piccadilly Circus.

The Nail Bar is open to everyone for appointments, not just hotel guests, and in fact sits separately from the hotel, making it perfect for those passing by who want to pop in for some on the spot pampering. And with it´s warm interior, dimmed lighting, and beautifully scented candles, the surroundings were relaxing and more reminiscent of a spa than a drop in nail bar, making it the perfect place to indulge in a quick treat. There is a range of services, from a quick 15 minute polish designed for those short on time, through to the more indulgent Luxury Manicure or Pedicure. Shellac is also available, as is a large choice of Nail Art, and even Swarovski crystals for those wanting to really make an impact. We opted for the Luxury Manicure, and after choosing our OPI nail colour from the array of colours, we sat down to relax.

Our lovely nail technician, Cleo, started by bathing our hands before our cuticles were gently nourished with oil and trimmed. As we chatted, Cleo started on a relaxing hand massage with a fantastic scrub from the CND range, before finishing with a nourishing, and beautifully scented hand cream from the Rik Rak range, the brand developed by the hotel´s founder, Kit Kemp. Cleo then started on the polish, expertly applying our chosen colour in between base and top coat layers. Whilst she worked, Cleo talked us through the different brands used at the nail bar, we had to ask more about the Rik Rak range, it smelt amazing, and instilled her advice to always use a top coat, a step I am guilty of skipping. We left with nail care advice, Rik Rak candles on our wish list for Valentine’s Day, and super soft, nourished skin and a perfect manicure which will keep us looking good and feeling great for January.
