Ready For A Change? Try These Tips

Every once in a while, we get a little bit bored with how we look sometimes. Having the same haircut for years, the same hair colour, rarely reaching outside of our comfort zone with our clothing, and avoiding new makeup looks for fear of getting them wrong can leave us feeling very ‘samey’.

And sometimes it isn’t a massive change that we need, it doesn’t have to be a significant reinvention of yourself. There can be some small, simple, delicate changes that can give you a boost of confidence and have you loving your look again.

Clothing

If you find that you are in (example) tunics and jeans all the time, or leggings and a jumper, and you’re ready to change it up, here are a couple of tips.

Instead of heading to the shops to buy new clothing, have a look through what you already have. Most of the time, we have a pretty extensive wardrobe, but we choose to go to a couple of things that we feel safe and comfortable in.

If you always wear dark colours or black, and I’m getting a little bit bored, it might be time to try out some bright and bold colours. You don’t have to change everything you wear into neon blue, though. What you can do is buy one colourful item and mix and match it with your comfortable black clothing.

Something you can take a look at what you have in your wardrobe that you don’t love and don’t wear. They are actually taking up time, energy, and your decision-making process and not giving you anything back.

So try to trim your closet down to something a bit more capsule, will save you time when you’re getting ready. But think about the changes that you want to make and leave some pieces in for experimentation. Pinterest is an excellent source of inspiration when you are looking to create a capsule wardrobe.

Hair

Some of us love to experiment with bright, bold colours, but others don’t quite have the confidence yet. And others love a beautiful blonde or a glossy brown. If you want to try and change your hair, without making any of the more significant commitments, you can try a range of weeks. They are no longer the kind of works that are super synthetic and fake looking. You could find ones that look incredibly real.

You can even get them ordered online. What you tried for a couple of weeks and found some colours and styles that you like, try wearing them for a few days in a row. And then you can take the plunge. And have that beautiful dusky rose bob that you’ve always wanted.

Accessories

Accessories are one of the cheapest ways to change a look. For example, if you have a range of piercings, you can buy some new piercing jewellry. Swapping your nose stud for a nose ring can give you a totally different vibe, and so can swapping your cartilage earrings. Huggies are super popular right now, and even though they don’t like it, they can make quite a statement.

Aside from piercing jewellry, you can also play around with stackable rings and stackable necklaces. Buying a range of different sizes and styles will ensure that you can put something totally unique together. Some stackable rings look super delicate, or you can go for the chunky more Gothic styles and give your outfits an edge.

Makeup

If you have a tried-and-true style of makeup, that you have been wearing for years, it might be time to try something new. Even though your makeup more than likely looks absolutely stunning, and you have got it down to a tea.

But there are so many products, it looks for experimentation. For example, if you are a firm blue eyeliner wearing person, it might be time to swap to Greg, black, or brown. If you are a massive fan of a full beat, then it might be time to change it for a more natural body that looks.

There are some absolutely stunning makeup tutorials for any makeup look that you would like to try. And, it is worth remembering that you probably won’t night it first time every time. Makeup is an art form, another there are no rules, there are some theories.

If you are looking for a quick way to add a natural glow, you can add a few drops of luminizer to use your foundation. Alternatively, you can add a drop of foundation and luminizer to your regular moisturiser for an ultrasheer finish. Both of those will provide a dewy it, and youthful glow.

Go Bold

Everybody has a power colour. For some, it is red, that bright, bold red lipstick, the one that makes you feel like you can take on the world, the one that gives you instant confidence. Foot others, it’s navy blue. A confident, powerful, and clean navy blue. Knowing that it can be accessorised and almost go with any other colour.

Whenever you find the colour that really makes you feel in control and powerful, then use it to your advantage. Purchase a range of accessories for your hair, and some shoes can add a great pop of colour too.

Try lip colorus and find the hues in an eyeshadow that you adore.

Skincare

If you struggle with some skincare issues, then it might be time to take some action. It can be challenging to have huge amounts of confidence when we aren’t feeling great about the face to put onto the world. A great option for a week-long treatment and something it’s quite cost-effective are ampoules. Apples are small vials that are filled with the highest quality ingredients.

And because of that, they usually focus on a single skin issue like aging, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, or acne. In general, they are much more effective than a cream that you might use it to cover all. And of course, you could improve the impact by drinking more water.

A few small tweaks to your skincare regime can give you results in a matter of days. So take a look at what you’re currently using if you’re using anything at all and see where you can make some improvements. There are some very affordable skincare companies, but you can try products from here are a few:

  • The Ordinary
  • Inkey
  • Panacea
  • Simple
  • Aztec Secret
  • Muji
  • Revolution Skin Care
  • Beauty Bay’s Own Brand

Take it Slow

You don’t have to change everything overnight you can make small changes and build up to where you want to be. Examples if you’d love to wear bright red lipstick but are quite there yet you can start with something more neutral, like are “your lips but better colour.” Then gradually increase the shade until you get to the right that you want. And the same goes for your clothing. You don’t have to change everything in one go if you don’t want to. Although it can be fun to surprise and shock people.

In the end, life is too short to be surrounded by things that you want to try but don’t quite have the confidence to do so. So make a little list of everything you want to try and start taking them off.
