Fake Bake Tips

Flawless Coconut Bottle and Box REFWe’ve teamed up with Sandra Vaughan, Global Beauty Consultant & CEO, Fake Bake to bring you some top tanning tips for summer.

Do you need to use a specific face tanner on your face, or can you use a body one?

Most tans can be used on the face and body, but if you have open pores it’s best to use a product especially formulated for the face. Our facial tanner has added anti-ageing ingredients that can plump and firm the skin whilst tanning.

How do you make it last?

Tan on your face will never last as long as tan on your body as your face is exposed and your skincare routine will strip your tan quicker. If you tan weekly, apply your face and body tan all over for a deeper colour, then use your face product every few nights to top up your colour.

Is there a special application technique you should do?

When applying tan to the face, it is best to use small amounts in circular motions with your fingertips making sure you take the product to the hairline.

How do you prep the face before tanning?

Always exfoliate the face prior to tanning. A great tip is to rub an ice cube over the entire face to close all pores, which will stop any product clogging them up.

How far down should you go on your neck?

Always apply your face tanner down your neck to blend the tan with your body tan for an even application. If your face tan contains anti-ageing ingredients, use this product for the back of your hands too.
