Charlotte Tilbury Pregnancy Makeup Tips

Charlotte TilburyStyleNest team up with A-list makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury to offer readers top tips on how to look well during pregnancy.

Tip 1. Revitalising makeup for tired mothers

“Use my brand new Rock n’ Kohl flesh-coloured Eye Cheat in the inside of your water line. It’s like 8-hours sleep in pencil. Always curl your lashes, it’s like a push-up-bra-for-the-eyes, and opens up tired, drooping eyes. As one gets more pregnant and more tired, your eyes can start to sag. I swear by that miracle feline flick trick which elongates and lengthens the eye. Just draw along the lash line upwards and outwards. It’s a look I wear everyday. Use chocolate-y brown colours, as a harsh black line can make you look even more washed out.”

Tip 2. Slim your face pre and post pregnancy

“When you’re pregnant everything gets bigger, which sometimes can be good a thing – luscious lips for instance – but unfortunately your face can puff and swell too.  De-puff and de-bloat using my Tilbury Tap – blend your moisturizer up and out like angel wings over the face, to promote lymphatic drainage. Then, using a pitter-patter motion, tap in the cream across your forehead, cheeks and chin to encourage microcirculation. This immediately gives you a complexion lift, and also helps to redefine bone structure.”

Tip 3. Rediscover your pregnancy glow

“My Wonderglow is Gisele in a jar. Apply to your skin after moisturiser to soft-focus any imperfections or fine lines. It redirects the light to more flattering angles of your face, making you look like you are glowing from within. I swear by my daily dose of Vitamins – take fish-oils, Omegas, zinc, vitamin E, and Floradix (iron). They help the baby’s brain too.”

Tip 4. How to deal with hyper-pigmentation?

“You can prevent it before it appears. Be very aware that melanin goes into overdrive when you’re pregnant. I like Institut Esthederm SPF 50 to prevent any sun-damage when my skin is vulnerable at the height of my pregnancy. To cover up hyper-pigmentation, use a corrective concealer with a brush to target areas. Apply foundation over your entire face, using a light touch to avoid wiping away the concealer, and then set it with powder. This will leave you looking flawless and fabulous.:
