I am quite new to Neostrata which is slightly surprising of me, as I am a complete ingredients nerd, and Neostrata is all about the ingredients….

My bugbear regarding ingredients is a 3-fold affair (bear with me);

1. A product can be advertised as a Vitamin C/collagen/peptide and so on, product, even if it contains too little an amount of the key ingredient to have any effect on the skin whatsoever. A product can also be heralded as ‘paraben free’ yet contain preservatives much worse for your skin (and potentially, your health) than a paraben. The marketing world is a clever one and buzz words can be all too misleading.
2. Some ingredients work in harmony with each other and others simply don’t, and unfortunately this is rarely made clear to us. For example, AHA’s and Vitamin C do amazing things for skin tone and texture, but ideally shouldn’t be used at the same time (i.e a Vitamin C serum with an AHA moisturiser), together they can aggravate the skin and become less effective. Instead use them at opposite ends of the day. Vitamin C combined with Vitamin E on the other hand is a match made in heaven.
3. Last, (and this is the geeky one) the delivery system is tres In other words, the way the product is designed to penetrate the skin is just as important as the ingredients themselves. So too is the way the active ingredients are made stable in a product- for example; in the wrong packaging/conditions, Vitamin C and Retinol can become 100% ineffective after air exposure. (Hint: opt for pumps, dark bottles and metal tubes).

So, without boring you with science, the bottom line is- Neostrata has you covered. And they’ve got the papers to prove it! Every single detail of each product has been so meticulously thought through to achieve the best results possible without irritation. Having met and chatted with some of the scientists behind the formulations, my confidence in these products is sky high! I have also seen the official, untouched before and after pictures that support the research findings, and they are nothing short of a miracle! To achieve such incredible ‘repair’ results (the neck pictures in particular blew me away) you can only imagine how strong their preventative abilities are- I am slathering on as I type!
