Glossier have hit UK shores with all guns blazing! Their London pop-up was a huge success (and a very organised affair too, I should add, despite the frenzied crowds!) but due to the rave reviews of their ‘cloud paint’ (gorgeous, creamy cheek tints) you may, like me, not have realised that Glossier isn’t a makeup only brand. In fact, I don’t know how I missed that, because their motto is “Skin First” – a brand after my own heart!

I decided to try one of their best-sellers, the Milky Jelly Cleanser. This is a daily cleanser with a consistency as described in it’s title. It can be used on dry or wet skin and instantly feels cooling to the touch, it effectively removes all traces of makeup, including eye makeup, yet doesn’t leave you rushing for the moisturiser- no tightness at all! The thing that makes this cleanser interesting is the inclusion of Poloxamer- a strong but mild cleansing agent used in contact lens solution, which is why MJC is so efficacious around the eyes.

More appealing to me, is the use of Rosewater- one of my favourite skincare ingredients for soothing the skin. More importantly though, the pH balance is low so therefore doesn’t impair the skin’s barrier- very important for a cleanser in my humble opinion! Overall, I can see why people like it and I am certain Glossier is only set to get bigger and bigger!
