This September, L’Occitane launches their new Divine Collection, comprising the exclusive (and much loved) Immortelle blends, plus a new Immortelle Super Extract.
L’Occitane discovered the immortelle flower 20 years ago in Corsica, and ever since, have been thoroughly researching its anti-ageing properties. An iconic natural beauty brand, it’s worth noting that L’Occitane are committed to biodiversity, and work hand in hand with producers, helping find ways to diversify their income also. Because all plants are grown from 100% Corsican seeds, the plant’s genetic diversity can be maintained, and fields in which they are grown are certified organic in accordance with European organic farming standards.
As a beauty editor, I’ve trialled many a skincare brand, and have to tell you, L’Occitane are one of my all-time favourites. Their skincare is gentle yet luxurious, while enveloping you in relaxation and natural skin nourishment.
Within the Immortelle Collection already is the multi award-winning and bestseller, Overnight Reset Serum. Applying this beauty magic wand in the early evening, the enriching serum sinks into skin with ease, offering hydration and nourishment while you sleep. The reset element in its title is because fine lines appear reduced and skin looks much more rested.
The new Divine formula includes the renowned anti-ageing Immortelle Super Extract, which is a 100% natural-origin alternative to retinol. Due to the expertise of L’Occitane’s research and development teams, who focus on specific eco-extraction technologies, two new extracts have been found.
These are the Immortelle Super Extract and the Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract. The Immortelle Super Extract is a powerful botanical compound, with 21 active molecules, and amazingly, some of which have never been studied before. Paving the way for skin volume benefits on a par with retinol (but being much gentler on skin), alongside this the Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract consists of water-soluble active molecules. These boost the antioxidant protection found in Immortelle Essential Oil, providing protection from blue light overexposure.
And speaking of overnight luxurious skincare solutions, Immortelle Precious Overnight Mask 50ml (£52) is TLC for skin as you sleep, but with a twist. Targeting the effects of blue light in particular, this aforementioned-Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract has antioxidant properties and therefore assists skin’s resistance against environmental aggressors.
Combined with the Immortelle Essential Oil, these two components combat the effect of blue light overexposure. Meanwhile, skin renewal benefits can be found in the Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid element of this mask. A lightweight, soothing, skin product, apply a thin layer to skin and feel the gentle relaxation overnight. Alternatively, for a quick fix, you can pop a thicker layer on for 10 minutes, before removing with cotton pads twice a week. I for one have definitely been having way more screen time than usual during the pandemic and welcome this brilliant beauty innovation.
The latest Divine Cream 50ml (£79), Divine Youth Oil 30ml (£79) and Divine Eye Balm 15ml(£59) launch on 7th September. The Divine Cream has a gorgeous, indulgently soft texture, ensuring skin radiance, smoothness and, after 2 months of use- skin volume appears more sculpted while wrinkles look smoothed. Finally, the Divine Eye Balm melts into the delicate undereye area, to work with the eye contour. Defining and smoothing, it’s been clinically proven to reduce the appearance of those pesky eye bags, dark circles and crow’s feet. You can use daily, or apply twice a week as a mask for five minutes, depending on which fits better with your skincare routine.
